DIONYSIOS / Mediterranean Grill

The restaurant opened in 1995 to rave reviews and has been specializing in contemporary and traditional European and Mediterranean cuisine ever since.

Dionysios' atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable. The décor is Middle Eastern with a touch of Europe. East Indian sheets drape the ceilings reminiscent of a Sultan's tent; art from around world decorates the walls complimented by soft lights and candles. Dionysios is an 80 seat fine dining restaurant with public and private dining areas.

The menu is a diverse inspiration created by Chef Glen Davidson and his wife Hostess Lori. He has designed an offering including appetizers such as East Indian pakoras and samosas, Garides me ouzo, (seared prawns in garlic butter and ouzo), and tyropita (feta, cream cheese phyllo triangles). Entrees include such exotic items as African lamb chops, Moroccan Sole, East Indian Butter chicken as well as Italian pastas and generous New York cuts of Alberta beef prepared in Glen's signature styles. Some new favourites are the lime breast of chicken with fresh dill and the "Apple-Cot pork tenderloin" with his own applesauce recipe combined with apricot brandy.

The dessert menu contains several specialties from around Europe and the Mediterranean. The Tiramisu and German Chocolate Sachertorte are very popular as well as the house favourite; a frozen Halva pie shot with almonds.

The evening is complete with signature cocktails, imported beers and the excellent wine list, specializing in wines from both old and new world producers.
